THIS PLACE

A Guarded Intimacy

The inner room of Tend the Moment—a home for reflection, essays, stories, and the life beneath the surface.

Come sit with me a while… in this place.

THE POEM

Before the essays, there were these words.

This Place first took shape in a poem about being seen, being known, and learning to protect what deserves to be held with care.

So I will guard this place,
Keep it under lock and key—
Not to hide what lives within,
But to honor what it asks of me.

— from the original poem

WHAT IT MEANS

A guarded intimacy is not a hidden one.

It is a closeness held with discernment—a place where a person can be fully seen without being exposed, where reflection does not become spectacle, and where what is tender is treated with regard.

What lives here is not concealed. It is protected long enough to be understood, honored, and allowed to remain whole.

Guarded, not closed. Intimate, not unprotected.

THE WRITINGS

A place for what asks to be held in language.

This Place gathers essays, reflections, stories, and conversations that stay with a moment long enough to discover what it carries.

Some writings will stand alone. Others will belong to Moments That Matter—a recurring collection centered on the experiences that shape us, ask something of us, and become part of who we are.
